Divided We Stand
Divided We Stand is a project following politics and the presidential debates. With in this project we learned to become upstanders (An active bystander that accesses a situation and determines what kind of help might be required) instead of bystanders and how to share our voice in society. One of the estential question for this project was "How can teenagers take an active role in educating the public and spreading political awareness in their communities?" Some speech skills we learned during this project was rap battle scripting/performing, tandem spoken word poem writing/performing, and debate preperation and debating. Overall this project taught us about government, politics, propaganda, American history, writing techniques, problems within our society, and how to share our voice within our society.
A tandem spoken word poem is a meaningful poem recited through multiple people. The spoken word piece that my partners and I created was based off women's rights. To see a video of my tandem spoken word click the button above.
